Smarter, Faster, and More Intuitive Than Ever - What’s New in WellDesign®

Our releases are truly customer centric. We work closely with our users while staying true to what a Modern SaaS product should be – easy to use, integrative with seamless data flows and above all, built to make better decisions, safely.

We’ve rolled out a fresh set of updates to Oliasoft WellDesign®, and they’re all about these exact principles: helping you work more efficiently and design better wells.

Here’s a quick look at what’s new:

Smarter Casing & Tubing Design

Plan for more scenarios with pore pressure overrides and apply Thermal loads to nested liners, — so your designs reflect real-world complexity, without the guesswork.

Easier, Clearer Trajectory Planning

You can now define boundaries like lease lines or pipelines directly on your site map, work more smoothly with split-screen views, and get faster well setup with fewer clicks.

Safer Simulations in Blowout & Kill

We’ve made gas flow modeling more accurate, added clearer reservoir visuals, and improved relief well flexibility — all designed to support critical decision-making in high-stakes situations.

Better Data Flow, Less Manual Work

  • Inherit casing and cement data from parent wells with Mother Well Import
  • Standardize cement inputs with Excel import/export
  • Enjoy smoother uploads and validations in the BHA Module

A Few More Goodies

  • Improved performance on large simulations
  • Cleaner hydrocarbon selection menus
  • Instant error feedback to keep things on track

Everything in this release is based on feedback from users like you — so thank you for continuing to shape the future of well planning with us.
